2007 District 3 & Pennsylvania State
The District 3 & Pennsylvania State will be held
June 9th & 10th, 2007
(Usually the 2nd Sat & Sun in June)
in Comfort Inn, Grove City, PA. Pennsylvania and District 3 combined checker tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10th, at the Comfort Inn on Rte. 208, Grove City. For reservations, call (724) 748-1005. Mention you are there for the checker tournament to receive the group rate. A block of rooms is being reserved until June 1, so please make your reservations early.
The Inn is located off I-79 Exit 113.
For those heading South on 79 as they exit 113, the Inn will be on the right
directly behind McDonald’s and Red Apple Gas Station, (118 Garrett Dr.)
Those heading North on 79
will exit 113 and turn left on Rte 208.
Registration 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Play begins 9:00 a.m.

***Congratulations to newcomer Billy Runge who became PA and District 3 champ (highest finishing resident) in his first tournament.
This tournament exemplified that checkers is a game for all ages. Ed Bruch at age 91 finished a close second. We also had ACF Life member Jaden Windsor Kozak (age 3 years!) complete the tournament. Jaden was given a
plaque by ACF president Alan Millhone to denote the occasion. Donations made during tournament included R. Beckwith $50 and Ed Brunch $20. Alan Milhone also donated $10 to PA treasury/next year's tournament.
